The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department, in partnership with the University of Florida, will be hosting a tree planting event on Saturday, April 27 to coincide with National Arbor Day and Earth Day. We anticipate planting 30 trees along the bike path adjacent to Tower Road. This is a great location that needs and deserves new trees, and we hope to inspire a wonderful turnout of enthusiastic tree planting volunteers!
Volunteers will meet at 9:30am in the dirt parking lot at 7115 SW 8th Avenue, Gainesville. Volunteers will learn the techniques required for proper tree planting. Trees and tools will be provided. Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes and work clothes, bring plenty of water, sun protection and a snack. Some gloves will be available, but you may prefer to bring your own.
